Walls Desk -  Fumed Oak & Brass Writing Desk

A private commission made from European Oak, fumed with ammonia to give its distinct deep tone and highlighted with the use of polished brass runners that connect into the handle area.  The desk top incorporates a slightly raised rim around both its sides and back.

Oval Walnut & Sycamore Coffee Table

With a focus on the use of contrasting timbers, this design developed from initial sketches where the central line and legs were to be distinct from the main body of the table top. The additional design details grew organically from the use of different timbers, such as the connection of the legs to the central line.

CP01 Desk

The CP01 Desk was designed to be a simple but subtly detailed piece. With smooth rounded corners, tapered cylindrical legs and an interesting, reversible Desktop Linoleum pad, the desk is functional whilst also standing out as a statement piece of furniture.

Span Table for the Maggies Centre Edinburgh, designed by REALISE_INNOV8

The Span Table was commissioned for the Maggie's Centre and is also part of the 'After The Storm' Exhibition in the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh. The Oak was donated by RBGE from windblown timber during Cyclone Andrea in 2012. Cracks and defects were filled with a dark epoxy resin to highlight these areas.

Simon Whatley's holistic approach centred around the design of the table, which will be a permanent fixture in Maggie's Centre Edinburgh from June 2017.
